Designing,
building, testing and maintaining software for the oil and gas industry.
At Claero I was given the task of creating a new application to replace
their existing one as the latest version.
The application handled millions of dollars worth of transactions for
several large corporations in the oil and gas industry. It had to
interface with 3rd party software from QuickBooks to Digital Oilfield's
invoicing system.
Technologies included PHP4 and PHP5, MySQL,
Postgres, GTK and GTK2.

Concillio is a database backend web development company. As
VP Technology I handled all aspects of programming and program
development. I would typically meet with clients to discover their needs
and then design, build and implement a database
solution for them. Afterwards if the client hosted their system with us I
managed all the web stats and maintained the database systems.
Often Concillo would work with a separate
design firm and then I also integrated their front end with our backend.
Typically I would use AOLserver webserver and a PostgreSQL
database and program dynamically in TCL. I also used Javascript
in most projects along with DHTML objects.
I was often in charge of projects ranging from $9000 to $60,000. All
projects I lead were completed on time and on budget.

The
work I did at E-complex was very similar to Concillio

commercial ventures.

I
taught several courses in introductory programming in Pascal and logic
circuit design with Chipmonk Diglog. I was responsible for creating my own lesson
plans, examples, tests and review sessions.
As a teaching assistant I educated students in the use of UNIX, Netscape
and Emacs, developed lesson plans and prepared
material, provided assistance to students in class time and office hours,
evaluated projects and assignments and administered exams.
I also supervised a computer lab of up to 300 students and provided help
with a variety of assignments.
